Rawa Idli

Ingredients:

  • Idli Rawa: 2 cups
  • Curd: 1 cup
  • Tomato: 1 medium
  • Carrot: 1
  • Green chillies : 2 numbers
  • Urad dal : 1 tsp for adding crunch (optional)
  • Cumin seeds : 1/4 tsp
  • Mustard seeds : 1/4 tsp
  • Oil : 1 tbsp
  • Turmeric powder : 1 pinch
  • Chilli powder : 1/2 tsp
  • Curry leaves : for tadka
  • Coriander leave
  • Eno (plain eno without any flavor)
  • Salt : As per taste

Recipe:

Soak the rawa in curd for half an hour. Add water required to adjust the consistency for idli. Add salt as per taste.

Finely chop the green chillies, tomato. Grate the carrot.

Heat oil in a kadai. Add cumin and mustard seeds to splutter. Add urad dal and cook till it is fried. Add curry leaves, masala powders.

Add this tempering to the idli batter.

Now add chopped tomato, green chillies, coriander leaves to the batter. Add eno at the last just before cooking.

Apply oil in the idli moulds. Add the batter to the moulds and cook for 12-15 mins. Serve hot with any chutney of your choice.

Note:

* Sour curd is preferred for this recipe.

* You can add other vegetables of your choice to make it more healthier.
